Do you have a story of bushfire survival and recovery? Wednesday, 19 August 2020

The horrific bushfires of summer 2019/20 may have been superseded by the pandemic for some, but to those affected, the trauma and devastation remain very much present as they endeavour to rebuild and recover.

It can help to see how others are navigating life after the fires and the choices they are making in their recovery.

The National Bushfire Recovery Agency is looking to gather and share genuine anecdotes of bushfire survival and recovery from individuals and businesses. The Agency is particularly interested in hearing from people who may have been assisted partly or wholly through Commonwealth funding contributions but are also looking for broader recovery stories that illustrate the scale of the impact on lives, how people are moving forward and stories of strength, resilience and community spirit.

If you have a story to share and are happy to be contacted by the Agency to discuss, please complete this form. The Agency will take a trauma informed approach, complying with all privacy requirements.

Please remember if you are struggling resources are available through beyondblue and the Department of Human Services.
