Engineers Australia Monash Sunway Student Society (EAMSSS) held its first Career Masterclass on the 19th of September 2018.
Our Career Masterclasses cover essential skills every engineer needs to perfect as they develop their careers. Students hear from actual engineers about their experiences and what has worked for them when looking and applying for work. President of the EAMSSS, Lim Ee, tells us more.
“For the first time ever, EAMSSS had the honour to present the inaugural Career Masterclass Event in Monash Malaysia.
Participating student members were given the rare chance to learn about networking, selection criteria, and interviewing from highly achieved and experienced professional engineers from prestigious companies.
The 2-hour long event started off with an introductory session by the Regional Business Development Manager of EA, Mr. Astley Pung, followed by a 1-hour long career stream workshop session where the professional engineers patiently guided the students through all the skills required to excel in their future career.
The workshops were conducted in a very interactive and exciting manner enabling the students to apply the skills learnt on the spot.
The event ended with a networking session among participants and volunteering engineers.
This event, which was an absolute success, will certainly be held again in the near future.”
