Georgiou Group to undertake Bruce Highway project Tuesday, 23 October 2018

National building construction, engineering, and property development company Georgiou Group, in a joint venture with Koppens Developments, has been awarded the Bruce Highway – Cairns Southern Access Corridor Stage 4 project from Kate Street to Aumuller Street for the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR).

The project involves upgrading 2.6km of the Bruce Highway from four to six lanes and will deliver long-term improvements to traffic flow, freight delivery and road safety south of Cairns.

Chief Executive Officer Rob Monaci said the Group had delivered numerous road improvement projects for DTMR and ultimately, the betterment of Queensland's motorists.

“We understand our client’s needs and look forward to working with our partners – Koppens Developments – to provide a high-quality project for our client and the local community,” he said.

“A key element of our growth strategy is to firmly establish ourselves in the road infrastructure and transport sectors across Australia. We look forward to working in Cairns and continuing to deliver infrastructure that keeps Australians moving.”

Construction, which will employ 120 at the project's peak, has commenced with expected completion in February 2021.

In Queensland, Georgiou is currently delivering the Green Camp Road Corridor Upgrade, Telegraph Road Stage 2, Beechmont Road Reconstruction Works, Gold Coast to Springbrook Road Repair Works, Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Stage 1B, valued at more than $87 million.
