Newcastle STEM update Friday, 14 December 2018

This award was inaugurated in 1990 by Past Pres ident B C (Sk ip} Tonkin. Its concept was to provide recognition to members of Engineers Australia who have made a major contribution in promulgating the contribution that the engineering profession makes to the genera l welfare of the Australia n people.

In 2004 the award's purpose was a mended to become a highly flexible award that ca n highlight contributions that may not find recognition in other of Engineers Australia's awards.

In recent years it was awarded to individuals or groups who provided conspicuous service to either the profession or the community in such a way that a significant contribution was made to the realisation of Engineers Australia's strategic goa ls.

Congratulations to the education sub-committee: Paul Reynolds, Michael van Koeverden, David Sparkes, Barry Finlay, Pierre Gouhier and Joe Townsend for all their dedication to this program and ongoing support of our STEM strategy.
