We’re seeking a self-motivated and confident Technical Services Sales Specification Engineer to join our Austral Masonry office in Prospect, New South Wales and Wollert, Victoria. Reporting to the National Engineering Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for assisting in both the design and specification of all Austral Masonry products while providing technical product and sales support to all sales, technical and marketing representatives, engineers, and management.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Influence specifiers, engineers, builders and subcontractors through technical product design, service, and installation requirements
  • Provide technical and engineering advice on all AM products, services and engineered solutions
  • Prepare general cost estimates for both supply and installation of all our engineered products
  • Liaise with Engineers, Architects and other professionals and technical personnel.
  • Propose changes in engineering design of competitor products and solutions to AM products and solutions
  • Further development of company engineering technical solutions and company product production capabilities and solutions
  • Comply with all relevant Australian building codes, standards and construction requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of required technical reports, presentations and company brochures
  • Assist with the analysis and pricing engineered works and contracts
  • Support marketing by attending trade or engineering shows
  • Present and demonstrate how our product will meet client technical requirements
  • Assist in the design of custom-made products and developing future innovative solutions
  • Assist sales team of representatives and engineers with timely customer support
  • Provide samples and technical assistance to Engineers and Specifiers in a timely manner
  • Assist management with production scheduling of both major and architectural works
  • Assist management with technical reporting and analysis work.

Success Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering in the relevant discipline (Civil, geotechnical, and structural)
  • Strong engineering technical understanding of both concepts and designs
  • Good to strong understanding of both structural and civil construction works
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in both initial design works and construction requirements
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Very good to excellent presentation skills
  • Strong sales and marketing skills
  • Very good skills in influencing and negotiating with all types of customers and specifiers
  • Previous design experience in masonry, paving, and retaining wall solutionsAbility to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority.
