Thought Leadership Forums in Asia Tuesday, 18 June 2019

Engineers Australia has recently held three Thought Leadership Forums in Singapore and Hong Kong, this is part of a series which will cover a variety of topics in the Engineering space.

The series kicked off in Singapore with the Thought Leadership Forum on Digital Engineering on the 25th of April, with Mr. Liak Goh from Aurecon as the keynote speaker. This event was graciously hosted by ARUP Singapore, at their new office facility. 45 people attended the event, including His Excellency Bruce Gosper, Australian High Commissioner and other invited guests. Mr. Bernad Raj from Ampcontrol was the moderator for the panel discussion, and Mr. Andrew Nelson from ARUP joined the panel as well.

The series then moved to Hong Kong on the 24th of May on the topic of Waste Management. This forum was held at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and 40 people attended the event. Ir. Alexi Bhanja from SMEC and Mr. Jude Chow from AEL were the keynote speakers on the day and Mr. Alex Cheung from WSP moderated the panel discussion. The session had great interaction between the speakers and the attendees.

On the 11th of June the series returned to the Lifelong Learning Institute in Singapore for the Thought Leadership Forum on the topic of Façade. Mr. Kabi Subramaniam from ARUP was the keynote speaker, Mr. Neil Gunn from BG&E joined in as a panellist and the Panel Discussion was moderated by Mr. Liak Goh from Aurecon.

Engineers Australia will continue to host more Thought Leadership Forum's covering different topics in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. The aim of the series is to bring forth continuous learning opportunities which engage members and industry as well as providing opportunities for speakers to share their expertise and experiences.
