Women in Engineering National Convention Scholarship Monday, 28 April 2014

Engineers Australia’s Women in Engineering National Committee is offering a scholarship for a female engineer to attend the 2014 Engineer’s Australia National Convention (http://www.convention2014.org.au/) to be held in Melbourne from 24-28 November 2014. The scholarship aims to support female engineers who may not otherwise have an opportunity to attend.

The National Convention is a major event that will see all areas of engineering come together over five days, providing a rare opportunity to share expertise and advance specialist and general knowledge for personal and professional mastery.

This event will deliver a range of technical conferences, interdisciplinary and cross-profession forums, panels addressing global issues, and workshops on personal development. International and national keynote speakers will expose attendees to megatrends and provide thought leadership that will influence engineering in Australia.

The programme currently includes sessions around:
  • Applied mechanics
  • Telecommunications and networks
  • Climate change, environment and sustainability
  • Leadership
  • Mastering complex projects/ project management
  • Women in engineering
  • Young engineers
and is aligned with EA’s Engineering Executive competencies. It is offered through Engineering Education Australia.

The scholarship will comprise of up to $5000 to cover conference registration, travel costs and accommodation.
 
Applications must be sent by 24 May 2014. The committee reserves the right to forward applicant details to EEA, for further registration opportunities.
